About this Event

Some of the world’s most consequential infectious diseases receive relatively little therapeutic development, not because the need is small, but because traditional drug-development economics can make them difficult to pursue.

Seek Labs believes a new generation of AI-powered discovery and programmable therapeutics could begin to change that equation.

Join us for a Fireside Chat with Jared Bauer, CEO and Co-Founder of Seek Labs, for a conversation about Open Impact, a new initiative announced through the Clinton Global Initiative that will put Seek Labs’ AI-powered drug discovery and programmable therapeutics platform to work against diseases traditional drug-development models often leave behind.

The three-year program will use Seek Labs’ BioSeeker AI platform and Sequence Ablation Therapeutics (SAT) technology to help advance potential treatments for neglected and underserved infectious diseases. Seek Labs will provide qualified research institutions with target intelligence, therapeutic designs, specificity analysis, and technical instructions without an upfront licensing barrier, while participating researchers contribute validation and data back into the system.

In this conversation, we’ll explore:
  • Why traditional drug-development models leave important diseases behind
  • How AI and programmable therapeutics could reduce the cost and time required to begin new therapeutic programs
  • How BioSeeker identifies vulnerabilities across large numbers of genomic sequences
  • Why a shared-data model could make the platform stronger with every participating research program
  • Whether Open Impact can create a repeatable model for developing therapies where traditional market incentives have fallen short
  • What the initiative could demonstrate about the broader potential of Seek Labs’ technology

Open Impact is about more than addressing a handful of overlooked diseases. It is an opportunity to test a fundamentally different question: What becomes possible when developing a therapeutic no longer requires starting from scratch?
