Mercedes AMG AL63

Performance luxury at its best

True glamour is having the sporty, chic new SL in your life. A ride that meets your needs with ease and your driving dreams with aplomb. Spending time with this sleek SL we understand that this luxurious roadster, a 2+2 seater, is particularly suitable for everyday use. All the while putting its power down on the road with an all-wheel drive suitable and assured for all-season, all-year driving

The new fantastic and sexy design of the new SL fits seamlessly into the life of that second or third car owner that doesn’t need a people mover. A car that is personal for them, and their fab plus one. The new SL is a damn looker thanks to the long wheelbase, short overhangs, long hood, a passenger compartment set back with a strongly raked windscreen, and powerful rear end. The AMG-specific grille on our Mercedes-AMG SL63 photo car emphasizes the effect of the width of the front end, with its 14 vertical slats, and cites the ancestry of all SL models. Other distinctive design elements include slim, sharply outlined LED headlamps and equally slim LED rear lamps.

The interior of the new Mercedes-AMG SL transforms the tradition of the first 300 SL Roadster into the modern era. The new edition perfectly combines sporting virtues and luxury. Fine materials and meticulous workmanship underline the standard of the highest level of comfort. The cockpit design, right down to the adjustable central display in the center console, is focused on the driver. At the same time, the completely new interior space concept with 2+2 seats offers more room and functionality than before. The rear seats are small, but they do increase the daily practicality and usable space.

A standout that you will notice when a bit of rain comes out of nowhere is the closing of the top takes only about 15 seconds and is possible up to a speed of 37 mph, also the same time when putting the top down. Another highlight we love is that the top can be operated not only by using the switch panel in the center console but also with the multimedia touchscreen, on which an animation shows how the process is progressing.

Our SL 63 with a 577 hp power plant provided a maximum torque of 590 lb-ft over a wide rev range from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph took about 3.4 seconds on the highway.

The new Mercedes-AMG SL, with its muscular proportions, was created on an all-new roadster architecture with a composite aluminum structure that is designed to bring excitement with a dash of luxury to the everyday drive or a weekend spent in search of every curvy road you can find.
